Stop suffering in silence!

Yup! That’s my advice from the interview I gave for Revolution Health’s latest article about living with IBS entitled Enjoy an Active Life with IBS.  Three people (me included) who suffer from IBS were interviewed for this article to explain some of the life altering characteristics of IBS and how we have managed to cope and move on.  It’s a great read and offers some helpful tips, like using your laptop as a tummy warmer to ease pain! Don’t miss it!

Also, it’s finally April and that means it’s Irritable Bowel Syndrome Awareness Month! Revolution Health is dedicated to helping the cause and leading the way by featuring various articles that cover all topics of IBS from How IBS is Diagnosed to IBS Myths and Misconceptions. (one of my favorite reads)

Be sure to sign up ASAP for a membership so you can get access to the latest articles, news, cool tools and connect with other people just like you.  It’s a growing community you should definitely become a part of!

Stayed tuned for more as I hunt down what else is happening to raise awareness and education and try to stir up a little awareness of my own. :)

  • It’s challenging to let your friends and family know what is going on. One main problem is that it generally takes SO LONG to figure out what the situation is. Almost always it starts with a couple months of being told to increase your fiber…

In my case, it took two years for me to get diagnosed with ulcerative colitis; first two scopes came out clean. So you get into a rut of being vague, because you don’t know better…

Regarding being active with IBS, as I revisited pre-UC (and pre knee surgery) goals and ran across the following article:

While we aren’t all going to be Ironmen and Ironwomen, I thought it was a worthwhile read for IBS-sufferers…
